Rubber Johnny (Chris Cunningham)
7 minutes 18
Johnny is a hyperactive, shape shifting
mutant child, kept locked away in a basement. With only his
feverish imagination and his terrified dog for company, he
finds ways to amuse himself in the dark.
Rubber Johnny is the latest creation from
UK's most imaginative filmmaker, Chris Cunningham. Featuring
music from the legendary electronic composer, Aphex Twin,
this nightmarish and hallucinatory short film is accompanied
by 42 pages of drawings and photographs ® Cunningham's first
published book of original artwork.
9pm
Dead Mans Shoes (Shane Meadows) 90
minutes 18
Two brothers return to the hometown they
left years before. They are close but very different. Richard
is strong and purposeful, Anthony younger, more hesitant.
Everything Richard does, Anthony innocently mimics. He is
slightly retarded and completely in awe of his brother, who
is in turn very protective of him. They set up camp in the
hills overlooking the town, reminiscing over their shared
past. But they are not here to reminisce. Richard is here
for revenge. Starring Paddy Considine, who co wrote the script
with director Meadows, Gary Stretch and Toby Kebbel.
